Care South Client Meets Cast of Macbeth

Weymouth Pavilion Welcomes Theatre Fan After 20 Year Break

Paul and the Cast of Macbeth in the Auditorium at Weymouth Pavilion

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Paul, a local theatre enthusiast, to Weymouth Pavilion recently for a very special visit; his first time seeing a play in over 20 years!

Thanks to the compassionate support of his dedicated care team at Care South at Home’s West Dorset office, Paul was able to experience the magic of live theatre once again, joining us for a performance of Macbeth. His carers, who assist him daily with medication and household support, learned of his long-held wish to return to the theatre and made it their mission to make that dream come true.

Not only did Paul enjoy the show, but he also had the rare opportunity to meet the cast from National Production Company before the curtain rose; a surprise arranged by his care coordinator, Karen Moger.

Speaking about the experience, Paul said:
“It was fantastic. It was nice to talk to other actors about theatre, which I haven’t done for a long time. We talked about plays, Shakespeare, and the witches scene which I particularly like in Macbeth. I’m very grateful to Karen and the Care South at Home team for this experience.”

The cast thoroughly enjoyed their chat with Paul, with Hazel Alton, Business Development Manager at National Production Company Limited, sharing:
“We were thrilled to play our part in helping make Paul’s wish extra special. The cast members really enjoyed meeting him and said that there was a lot of laughter as they shared stories about various plays they enjoy and have been part of.”

At Weymouth Pavilion, we believe in the power of theatre to connect, uplift, and create cherished memories. It was an honour to be part of such a heartwarming moment, and we’re so pleased Paul chose our venue for his return to the stage he’s missed for so long.

A huge thank you to the Care South at Home team and National Production Company for making this experience truly unforgettable.

Care South is a leading provider of high quality residential and home care services across the south of England. The not-for-profit charity has home care offices covering east and west Dorset, north and south Somerset, and care homes in Dorset, north Devon, Somerset and West Sussex.

We Saw The Magic of Motown’s 20th Anniversary Show – you should too…

We Saw The Magic of Motown’s 20th Anniversary Show and we think you should see it too!

Amy Robinson and Megan Bale - The Magic of MotownOn Thursday, 13th March, we had the incredible opportunity to attend The Magic of Motown’s 20th Anniversary show at the iconic London Palladium, and what a night it was! As we made our way into central London via train, anticipation buzzed in the air. We were eager to experience the magic first-hand ahead of the show’s upcoming performance at Weymouth Pavilion in July 2025, and we were certainly not disappointed!

As we made our way inside, we were ushered into a quiet upstairs bar where we indulged in a few cheeky preshow drinks, the bar was beautiful and we couldn’t help but feel like VIP’s for the evening. We were fortunate to meet some of the masterminds behind this spectacular production, including Entertainers Company Director James Taylor and the team. The Entertainers passion for keeping the Motown legacy alive was truly evident, which just added an extra layer of excitement to the evening.

As we took our seats, the atmosphere was electric – the Palladium seats over 2000 and unsurpsingly there wasn’t a single empty seat. The audience was in high spirits, and to make the night even more special, Managing Director Michael Taylor graced the stage before the show, offering heartfelt thanks and sharing a bit of the production’s 20 year history. It was a touching moment that set the stage perfectly for what was to come.

From the very first beat, the show was a whirlwind of high-energy performances, celebrating the timeless hits of Motown legends like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and many more. Every number was executed with enthusiasm, flawless harmonies, and dazzling choreography, making it impossible to resist singing along.

During the interval, as we caught our breath from dancing in our seats, we had another delightful surprise, some of the cast members came out to mingle with the audience in the bar. They were just as warm, charismatic, and energetic in person as they were on stage, happily posing for photos and chatting with fans.

By the time the final note rang out, the entire audience was on their feet, clapping, dancing, and cheering. The Magic of Motown truly lived up to its name, delivering a night of nostalgia, joy, and sensational music. If you have the chance to see this show, especially when it comes to Weymouth Pavilion on the 26th July, don’t hesitate! You can take our word for it that you won’t regret it!

Phoebe currently keeps busy working in the North East, teaching, gigging and performing in The Charlie’s Angels Band with Geordie comedian and performer Charlie Richmond.

Phoebe is rather excited to be back, once again, playing ‘Tinker Bell’ this Christmas but this time on the South Coast at Weymouth Pavilion. She would also like to encourage all the local girls and boys to give that horrible ‘Captain Hook’ a massive “boo!” every time he comes on stage in the pantomime.

Christmas Panto Peter Pan Press Launch 2024/25: A Swashbuckling Success!

Christmas Panto Press Launch 2024/2025: A Swashbuckling Success!

Today, 21st October, we officially kicked off the festive season with our Christmas Panto Press Launch—and what an event it was! The press joined us in style as we were introduced to the vibrant cast of this year’s highly anticipated pantomime, Peter Pan. One by one, the talented performers were brought onto the stage, by none other than our beloved Panto Dame, Mrs. Smee (played brilliantly by Jamie Riding), hosting the event with wit, charm, and more than a few cheeky laughs!

As we were introduced to the magical world of Neverland, we were treated to sneak peeks of what’s to come. We heard a couple of musical numbers that will feature in the show, that already have us buzzing with excitement. We can confidently say that this year’s production is set to be nothing short of spectacular.

The fun didn’t stop there! After the press preview, we headed down to the beach for a series of fantastic photo opportunities. With the stunning seaside backdrop, the cast posed for some truly amazing shots, capturing the adventurous spirit of Peter Pan perfectly.

In true panto fashion, the afternoon had one last surprise up its sleeve. As we made our way back from the beach, none other than the dastardly Captain Hook—mid-costume and fully in character—was hilariously “arrested”! Whether it was for piracy or his devilish schemes, we’ll never know, but we’re sure it’ll only add to the drama when the show hits the stage.

With the countdown to opening night now officially underway, the excitement is real. This year’s Peter Pan promises to be a panto filled with laughter, music, and magic for the whole family. So don’t miss out—hook your tickets now before they fly away! The croc is ticking, and you won’t want to be left disappointed.

Here’s to an unforgettable festive season with Peter Pan! See you in Neverland!
