WOW’s award-winning group is thrilled to present this hit British musical fresh from its recent West End run and UK tour.
Inspired by a true story, this exuberant, heart-warming show tells of a teenager’s struggle for acceptance. Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie is terrified about the future but is going to be a sensation. Supported by his brilliant, loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies, and steps out of the darkness into the spotlight.
Everybody's Talking About Jamie: Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of the musical comedy, modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences. It is professionally directed and choreographed by Martine Burt, who has directed many of WOW’s acclaimed productions, including Grease, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the award-winning WOW Shows. Martine has also received the NODA South West award for Outstanding Choreography.
