Weymouth Festival of Remembrance
Sunday 31st October 6.30pm
This year we bring you the 5th Festival of Remembrance to be held Weymouth. Making a welcome return after the National lockdown, it is very apt that we will be marking the 100 Years of the Royal British Legion.
The aim of the Festival of Remembrance is to commemorate all those who have lost their lives in conflicts; we aim to do that with entertainment and reflection.
The Royal British Legion was formed in the aftermath of the First World War when four organisations came together to fight the injustices faced by those returning home after service – and became the British Legion in 1921. From the beginning we campaigned for fair treatment of those who had given so much for their country during the war and provided much needed welfare support and comradeship to millions.
100 years on we continue to respond to the changing needs of the Armed Forces community, providing small interventions to life-changing, and sometimes lifesaving, support. We are hoping to make this a Festival to Remember with a welcome return of the Royal Navy Band from Yeovilton, the fabulous Dorset Rock Choir and the Decadettes.
Please join us for a truly fantastic evening.
