The GIANT Quiz is a follow-up event after the very successful MONSTER Quiz last September.
All the quiz questions, with accompanying images and music, will be projected onto the GIANT screen. Subjects include : General Knowledge, Geography, Music, The Movies, Dorset, The USA, Books & Literature, Food & Drink and Mythology & Folklore. Teams of any size, up to a maximum of six people, are invited to come and pit their wits.
A GIANT first prize of £250 is up for grabs, with consolation prizes for the runners up. There will be a raffle, and auction, and a fun team game during the half-time interval.
As before, all the proceeds will go to support Weymouth RNLI. The Weymouth Lifeboat Station, oner of the busiest on the south coast, operates two boats : the all-weather Severn class lifeboat “Ernest and Mabel” and the Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat “Jack and Phyl Cleare”. RNLI lifeguards operate on the beach in the summer season.
The RNLI celebrated its 200th anniversary last year – it is a wholly publicly-funded charity which provides a 24-hour 7 days a week search and rescue service from 238 stations around the coast of the UK and Ireland.
