Weymouth Pavilion Welcomes Theatre Fan After 20 Year Break

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Paul, a local theatre enthusiast, to Weymouth Pavilion recently for a very special visit; his first time seeing a play in over 20 years!
Thanks to the compassionate support of his dedicated care team at Care South at Home’s West Dorset office, Paul was able to experience the magic of live theatre once again, joining us for a performance of Macbeth. His carers, who assist him daily with medication and household support, learned of his long-held wish to return to the theatre and made it their mission to make that dream come true.
Not only did Paul enjoy the show, but he also had the rare opportunity to meet the cast from National Production Company before the curtain rose; a surprise arranged by his care coordinator, Karen Moger.
Speaking about the experience, Paul said:
“It was fantastic. It was nice to talk to other actors about theatre, which I haven’t done for a long time. We talked about plays, Shakespeare, and the witches scene which I particularly like in Macbeth. I’m very grateful to Karen and the Care South at Home team for this experience.”
The cast thoroughly enjoyed their chat with Paul, with Hazel Alton, Business Development Manager at National Production Company Limited, sharing:
“We were thrilled to play our part in helping make Paul’s wish extra special. The cast members really enjoyed meeting him and said that there was a lot of laughter as they shared stories about various plays they enjoy and have been part of.”
At Weymouth Pavilion, we believe in the power of theatre to connect, uplift, and create cherished memories. It was an honour to be part of such a heartwarming moment, and we’re so pleased Paul chose our venue for his return to the stage he’s missed for so long.
A huge thank you to the Care South at Home team and National Production Company for making this experience truly unforgettable.
