We Saw The Magic of Motown’s 20th Anniversary Show and we think you should see it too!
On Thursday, 13th March, we had the incredible opportunity to attend The Magic of Motown’s 20th Anniversary show at the iconic London Palladium, and what a night it was! As we made our way into central London via train, anticipation buzzed in the air. We were eager to experience the magic first-hand ahead of the show’s upcoming performance at Weymouth Pavilion in July 2025, and we were certainly not disappointed!
As we made our way inside, we were ushered into a quiet upstairs bar where we indulged in a few cheeky preshow drinks, the bar was beautiful and we couldn’t help but feel like VIP’s for the evening. We were fortunate to meet some of the masterminds behind this spectacular production, including Entertainers Company Director James Taylor and the team. The Entertainers passion for keeping the Motown legacy alive was truly evident, which just added an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
As we took our seats, the atmosphere was electric – the Palladium seats over 2000 and unsurpsingly there wasn’t a single empty seat. The audience was in high spirits, and to make the night even more special, Managing Director Michael Taylor graced the stage before the show, offering heartfelt thanks and sharing a bit of the production’s 20 year history. It was a touching moment that set the stage perfectly for what was to come.
From the very first beat, the show was a whirlwind of high-energy performances, celebrating the timeless hits of Motown legends like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, and many more. Every number was executed with enthusiasm, flawless harmonies, and dazzling choreography, making it impossible to resist singing along.
During the interval, as we caught our breath from dancing in our seats, we had another delightful surprise, some of the cast members came out to mingle with the audience in the bar. They were just as warm, charismatic, and energetic in person as they were on stage, happily posing for photos and chatting with fans.
By the time the final note rang out, the entire audience was on their feet, clapping, dancing, and cheering. The Magic of Motown truly lived up to its name, delivering a night of nostalgia, joy, and sensational music. If you have the chance to see this show, especially when it comes to Weymouth Pavilion on the 26th July, don’t hesitate! You can take our word for it that you won’t regret it!
