On Wednesday we hosted our very first relaxed performance of our Christmas pantomime and it's been an incredible success!
Our production team worked hard to create a specially adapted version of this year’s show to make it more accessible to those on the autistic spectrum and with other disabilities. We kept the house lights up so it wasn’t too dark, kept the sound level low so it wasn’t too loud, toned down certain lighting and other effects and allowed people to come and go from the auditorium as they pleased.
The cast also had a great time meeting everyone after the show!
The response to the Relaxed Performance has been amazing, take a look at what people have been saying on Facebook:
It was a very special afternoon for everyone involved here, from the cast and crew to the Front of House team, and we’re so glad to be in a position to give families unforgettable memories this Christmas.
We hope to do more Relaxed Performances in the future, including our 2017 summer panto Pirates of the Pavilion. Keep your eyes peeled for more details.
